We are currently looking for a Multi Skilled Operative to join our Hindlow Plant.  This role is easily commutable from Buxton, Sheffield, Stockport, Chesterfield, Macclesfield, Mansfield and the surrounding areas.

Main Responsibilities

Reporting to the Hindlow Production Coordinator, as our Multi Skilled Operative, you will be responsible for fully executing both production and autonomous maintenance schedules and responsibility for adhering to SHE standards.

This includes working a shift pattern and weekend work to suit the needs of the Lime Operation.

The role has responsibility for maintaining the workplace to company standards.

Your responsibilities as the Multi Skilled Operative will include:

  • Maintaining asset condition by fully engaging with all autonomous maintenance duties with specific focus on plant cleaning, inspection, lubrication, and basic servicing work.
  • Operating any fixed plant including loading and offloading both locally and remotely as the production schedule dictates.
  • Operating any mobile plant supporting the supply of kiln stone ensuring the size, quality and volume meets the demands of the lime kilns and executing the lime logistics plan around the Hindlow site.
  • The Lime Multi-Skilled Operative is responsible for generating process data and information and recoding in appropriate systems.

The role of Multi Skilled Operative is a varied and rewarding position that requires:

  • Commitment to maintaining and improving health, safety and environmental standards and you should already hold or work towards IOSH Working Safely or higher
  • Reasonable general level of qualification
  • Loading shovel and ADT licenses
  • Desirable: HGV Class 2 licence
  • Desirable: Experience in a chemical manufacturing and distribution process.
  • Desirable: Previous experience in an operational role in the process industry
  • Desirable: Computer literate in Microsoft packages.
  • Essential: Ability to operate plant in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Essential: Ability to execute autonomous maintenance duties including cleaning, inspecting, lubrication and tightening
  • Good problem solving skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Desirable: Lime Processing Knowledge or relevant industry knowledge
  • Good decision making skills

Main Responsibilities

Reporting to the Electrical lead, as our Maintenance Electrician, you will be responsible for undertaking plant maintenance, repairs and improvements to ensure maximum reliability of all plant associated areas and to assist team members in all aspects of plant operation.

Your responsibilities as the Maintenance Electrician will include:

  • Respond to plant breakdowns, when necessary and be responsible for the correct and efficient repair of equipment keeping downtime to a minimum with timely and safe adherence to the maintenance plan whilst complying to all relevant statutory legislation and the internal company Safety, Health and Environmental standards,
  • Continue to improve plant performance whilst maintaining safety, maintenance and asset reliability,
  • Contribute to the in-house development of the Computer Maintenance Management System,
  • In support of the maintenance and operations functions, you will utilise documents, and maintain policies, procedures, and associated guidelines for the safe and efficient maintenance of equipment within the Electrical Engineering department as appropriate.

The role of  Maintenance Electrician  is a varied, complex and rewarding position that requires:

  • ESSENTIAL – Level 3 Apprentice trained Electrician and  ONC/NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering,
  • 17th Edition – BS7671 I.E.E Regulations and Legislation as a minimum, with 18th Edition preferred,
  • Have experience of TPM methodology and Continuous Improvement,
  • Working knowledge of relevant electrical and control engineering maintenance principles and practices, and experience of working in a relevant heavy engineering industry,
  • Working knowledge and experience of Industrial Low Voltage power distribution systems,
  • A good working understanding of PLC’s and the use of the associated tools and techniques for the interrogation of the software,
  • Knowledge and understanding the operation of AC Drives and Motors,
  • Knowledgeable in Predictive Maintenance,
  • Experience in working with a Computer Maintenance Management System,
  • Experience with Root Cause Analysis, Failure Mode & Effect Analysis tools/techniques,
  • Understands database systems as relevant to planned maintenance and logging of shift activities,
  • Able to design simple electrical systems and draw schematic diagrams then transfer the information into practical use,
  • Know how to perform electrical statutory tests and inspections and understand safe use of electrical test and measuring instruments,
  • An understanding of mechanical systems including hydraulics and pneumatics and understand National and International codes and symbols used on drawings and specifications,
  • Ability to learn Health and Safety rules applicable to each department regarding their own and other operators’ safety.
