Effluent & Wastewater Treatment

Effluent and wastewater are treated using a variety of physical, chemical and biological processes to eliminate pollutants. Once treated effluent and waste water can be released back into the water system or recycled for use.

The type and grade of lime used generally depends on size of the treatment plant and quantities of lime required. Lime is normally used in the form of a slurry, or milk of lime. Using quicklime (calcium oxide) requires the installation of special “slaking” equipment but entails lower material costs. Quicklime is commonly used for the largest systems.

Hydrated lime (calcium hydroxide) is more costly but requires less equipment. It is generally used for medium size installations. Pre-prepared milk of lime requires the simplest type of equipment and provides a highly efficient solution for smaller systems.

We work closely with our customers to identify the most efficient, cost effective and sustainable lime solution for their Wastewater requirements, ensuring maximum return on investment.
