Lime Wash

Lime Wash is normally applied to a sympathetically porous background such as sandstone, lime plaster, clay bricks or lime render. The background should be washed to remove dust and grime. Smooth surfaces should be lightly sanded to allow adequate penetration of the substrate.

New surfaces should be allowed to dry and cure properly before application. Substrates with organic growth should be treated with a suitable biocide in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions and dead material brushed off before applying Lime Wash. Steam cleaning may be necessary.
