Stainless Steel
The Argon Oxygen Decarburisation (AOD) process is used, amongst others, to adjust the composition of stainless steel to the correct specification. Final removal of sulphur and phosphorus is achieved by the addition of our high purity AOD Calbux quicklime.
The quicklime used in this process must have high overall purity and very low residual levels of calcium carbonate. Buxton Lime is the only lime supplier in the UK to produce high purity AOD quicklime with low calcium carbonate residual levels.
